• • Usage data — pages visited, features used, and general interaction data, via Google Analytics.
• • Device and technical data — IP address, browser type, and user agent, which we also use for basic fraud prevention and to associate guest sessions (if you use our tools without an account) with your results.
• • Cookies — small files used to keep you signed in, remember your progress on tools, and support analytics and advertising (see below).

This includes Meta's Advanced Matching feature, which uses information you've already given us (like your email address), in hashed form, to improve ad measurement accuracy.
• • Google Sign-In — an optional way to create an account without a password.
• • OpenAI — if you use the Boat Name Generator, the personality and interest details you enter are sent to OpenAI's API to generate a name suggestion. We don't send any account information (like your email) along with this request.

When you click a product or service link on our site and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Clicking these links takes you to a third party's website, governed by their own privacy policy — we don't see or control what happens after you leave our site.

Data Sharing

We don't sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers listed above, as needed to operate our tools, and if required by law.

Data Retention

We keep account information and saved tool progress for as long as your account is active. Guest (non-account) tool sessions are tied to your browser session and are not retained indefinitely for identification purposes.

Your Choices

• • Account deletion — contact us and we'll delete your account and associated saved data.
• • Cookies — most browsers let you block or delete cookies; doing so may affect your ability to stay signed in or save tool progress.
• • Analytics/ads opt-out — you can use browser extensions like Google's Analytics Opt-out Add-on, adjust your ad preferences in your Meta (Facebook) account settings, or use your device's ad-personalization settings, to limit tracking.

Children's Privacy

MyBoatGuru is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
